Whistle blower: The case of Air Nigeria’s John Nnorom
One
day after the Dana Air crash of June 3, John Nnorom, a former executive of Air
Nigeria disclosed to public what might really lead to this air crash tragedy.
The whistle blower blamed the chairman of the organization named Jimoh Ibrahim of not taking serious the
matter of maintenance of planes of the
company rather used the fund for his personal use. John Nnorom
said a huge amount of money that is N35 billion which was taken as loan
to finance Air Nigeria is also took
another routine and invested in NICON
Investment Ldt, mostly known as Wonder Bank. Engineers of same company were
also forced to allow planes that were not supposed to fly and went on for
strike because of this inhuman behavior by their manager.
But
Air Nigeria denied what was said by the whistle-blower. They also said Nnorom
did not know anything about maintenance of aircraft before his dismissal from
the company. Air Nigeria called on the public at large to disregard the
sabotage of the company. The company is trying not to compromise their
integrity and keep up the good reputation they used to have because such horrible
catastrophe never happens to them, no accident and no emergency landing.
Two different stories are mentioned above, which one true?
If the
whistle blower allegations are real, Government agencies would thoroughly investigate
the airline. If it happens to be wrong, the question would be for what reason
or gain would he do such a thing? But if he is guilty for his action charges
would be against him. However being guilty does not mean that the person is
lying because criminals may state the truth and honest people can lie.
Currently
the investigation is still on process and I will keep on updating if there is
any other vital information.
Nigeria would be much better if organizations would blow whistle on unethical behaviuors
ReplyDeleteWow this is bad and very unethical if it happens to be true. They're playing with people's lives!!.
ReplyDeleteAll planes that have been in operation for more than 10 years should be grounded(if possible after 5 years). Constant training of highly skilled pilots is also very important.
ReplyDeleteMany times, incidence has shown that whistle blower is right but corruption will always hide d truth.
